AhlulBayt News Agency: At least two individuals lost their lives and several others were wounded in two separate airstrikes carried out by Israeli drones in southern Lebanon. These attacks mark another clear breach of the existing ceasefire agreement with Lebanon.
Israeli drones targeted a motorcycle in the southern town of Mahrouna, located roughly 100 kilometers south of Beirut, on Saturday evening, according to Al-Mayadeen TV. The attack killed one person.
Two additional individuals, who were in a passing vehicle during the strike, sustained injuries as a result, according to local security sources.
Earlier the same day, Lebanon’s Ministry of Public Health reported that another Israeli drone fired a guided missile at a vehicle in Kounine, located in the Bint Jbeil district. This attack also resulted in one fatality.
Security sources identified the victim of the Kounine attack as Hassan Mohammad Jumaa, a member of the Hezbollah movement.
Since the ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hezbollah on November 27, Israeli forces have continued to conduct aerial assaults across Lebanon, violating the terms of the agreement.
On January 27, 2025, Lebanon officially extended the ceasefire with Israel until February 18.
Despite the expiration of the extended ceasefire deadline, Israeli forces continue to occupy five strategic locations in southern Lebanon near the border: Labbouneh, Mount Blat, Owayda Hill, Aaziyyeh, and Hammamis Hill.
Lebanese authorities have denounced the ongoing Israeli military presence, labeling it a violation of the ceasefire terms. Officials have vowed to take all necessary measures to remove foreign forces from their territory.
